Tips when making a drop-off
Before going to the drop-off site with your used cooking oil, consider these following pointers:
USE A NON-BREAKABLE, OIL-RESISTANT CONTAINER, SUCH AS THE ORIGINAL CONTAINER, for storing and transporting oil.
Double check that lid is securely fastened before transporting.

CALL DROP-OFF CENTER to confirm hours of operation at the Household Drop-off Waste Center.

CHECK SFGREASECYCLE.ORG for upcoming drop-off events and locations throughout the City
NO WATER, SOAPSUDS, OR FOOD SCRAPS. To prevent contamination, don't store used oil in open containers, and keep the lid tightly closed.

NO HAZARDOUS MATERIALS. Even a trace amount of hazardous material mixed with cooking oil contaminates it, rendering it unusable. For information on how to properly dispose of hazardous materials, visit sfenvironment.org.

NO MOTOR OIL.
